You're Already Making T-Shirts. A Bodysuit Is $3 Away.

Bodysuit Series·Manufacturing guide

If you're already producing T-shirts or tank tops, adding a bodysuit to the range isn't a new sourcing project. It's the same factory, the same fabric system, and the same production run — with two additional operations layered on top.

What actually changes

The two operations that separate a bodysuit from a standard jersey top: cutting and sewing crotch extension panels onto the body hem, and applying the snap plus lined gusset construction. That's it — same jersey knit factory, same machines, same fabric supplier relationship.

No factory change required. The bodysuit is in the same production run as the T-shirt range.

Why this matters commercially

Done correctly, the bodysuit is one of the most repeat-purchased items in a DTC jersey range — the same structural reliability (it never untucks, never rides up) that made it a power-dressing staple in the 1980s still drives repeat purchase today. For a brand that's already validated its T-shirt supply chain, it's a low-risk, high-repeat-purchase line extension.

The takeaway

Don't treat a bodysuit as a new product category requiring new sourcing. If your T-shirt factory has snap application experience — worth confirming, but common — it's a small brief extension, not a new supplier relationship.
