Each ball forms a hollow sphere built from two joined hemispheres, with the weld line sitting flush around its midpoint. The round body is perforated by evenly spaced circular holes that pass through the wall, leaving a smooth outer surface between openings. Proportions stay uniform across the set, and the balls appear in dark green, black, and off-white.

Three dads on Bainbridge Island had bored kids, a badminton net, and no shuttlecocks.
They improvised with ping-pong paddles and a perforated plastic ball meant for backyard wiffle games. That was the summer of 1965. Fifty-eight years later, pickleball was the fastest-growing sport in America for three consecutive years running, and the paddle — still, at its core, an oversized ping-pong bat — had become a $50–200 carbon-fiber composite product with its own materials science.
Questions
A composite paddle with fiberglass face and polypropylene honeycomb core (China, 300-unit run) lands around $8–14; carbon-fiber face paddles targeting competitive players run $15–25 landed, with the face material and core density being the main cost drivers.
