Each coaster forms a flat, circular disc with a low profile and even thickness across the surface. A continuous line of stitching runs around the perimeter, sitting slightly inward from the outer edge. The two bonded layers create a visible side wall, with the top layer in a light tone and the base beneath it.

The coaster's original meaning as a decanter-sliding tray, shrunk down to protect a single glass.

Cork or absorbent stone coasters manage moisture well but wear faster; non-porous materials like acrylic, metal, or coated wood wipe clean instantly and hold up better to constant restaurant turnover.
